◆ Adventure Central
Horseshoe Canyon Ranch
Four hundred climbing routes, twenty miles of trail, and a zip line.
Adventure central for climbers, bikers and anyone who would rather be outside.
Forty minutes south of Bentonville by air, a working ranch sits in a canyon ringed by sandstone. Horseshoe Canyon has been on the international climbing map for years, and the reason is simple arithmetic: more than four hundred routes on walls that face every direction, graded from first-time-on-rock to genuinely hard.
It is not only a climbing destination. Twenty-plus miles of newly-constructed scenic trail were cut for e-mountain biking, which flattens the canyon’s considerable elevation into something you can enjoy rather than survive. The zip line runs the canyon rim for anyone who wants the view without the effort.
Come for one discipline or move between all three in a day. The canyon is compact enough that you are never far from the next thing.
