◆ Fly Fishing
Trigger Gap
A grass strip, a river, and nobody else on it.
A paradise for fly fishing and for anyone who wanted the river to themselves.
Trigger Gap is a grass strip in a river valley outside Eureka Springs, and its whole appeal is what is not there: no marina, no car park, no queue at the put-in. You arrive by air and the water is yours.
The fishing is the reason to come. Cold, clear water, a guide who knows which run is working, and rods rigged before you are on the bank.
When the fishing is done the valley is worth walking. The hiking trails run the bluff line with long views down the river, and the mix of water, field and hardwood makes it one of the better birdwatching stretches in this part of the state.
